Fimmta þorpið, ef við númerum þau frá Speziu, er Monterosso sem er stærsti bærinn af þessum fi. Við tókum ferjusiglingu, dagspassa frá Spezíu og sigldum alla leið til Monterosso, með viðkomu á nokkrum stöðum, þar sem við stoppuðum ekki.
Monterosso er sú eina af borgunum fimm sem er með sandströnd og er bænum skipt í yngri og eldri bæinn. Við gengum um báða bæina og kíktum á hótelið sem Náttúruhlaup eru með samning við og fengum okkur drykk þar og settumst í garðinn. Það var gaman að sjá þennan bæ sem er frekar ólíkur hinum, enda með kastala og auðvitað kirkjum eins og allir hinir bæirnir. Alltaf ein ef ekki tvær kirkjur í hverjum bæ.
